What forfeits the price guarantee?

Forfeits are permanent. Read this before touching your vouches.

Written by Serpin Taxt

The guarantee has strict rules, and forfeits are permanent. Read this before making any changes to your vouches.

Start vouching any time before 8 October. Once you have vouched the amount you want covered, keep it vouched without interruption. If you want to be certain your tokens qualify, vouch once and leave it in place: the Token Sale Terms and Conditions govern, and you can read them at sale.ethos.network/terms.

After that it's important you keep your baseline of vouched tokens. Read more about how the vouch guarantee works below.

For maximum legal protection we recommend to not move your vouches at all after the token becomes transferable(October 8th 2026).

How your guarantee amount is set

Your guarantee amount is fixed by the amount you have vouched at the moment WHUF becomes transferable on October 8. There is no set clock time: the snapshot is taken when transferability goes live. That amount is the maximum guarantee you can ever hold, and it cannot be increased later by vouching more.

The snapshot was taken when $WHUF became transferable on 8 October 2026. Your guarantee amount is whatever you had vouched at that moment, and it can no longer be increased.

Two things determine what counts:

  • Only tokens you purchased are covered. Bonus WHUF is not covered and does not count toward your guarantee amount.

  • The guarantee applies only for as long as you keep that amount vouched continuously. Your guaranteed balance is whatever purchased amount has stayed vouched without interruption since the snapshot.

Dropping below your amount is a permanent forfeit

If your vouched balance falls below your guarantee amount, for any reason, at any time, the guarantee on the difference is immediately and permanently forfeited. A partial decrease forfeits that portion. There is:

  • No grace period

  • No way to reinstate by re-vouching

Re-vouching after a decrease does not restore what was forfeited, and it cannot raise your guarantee back toward the October 8 snapshot. Either the tokens have stayed vouched and are protected, or they have not and are unprotected.

You can move vouches, but the order matters

You are not locked into the exact vouches you held on October 8. You can change who you vouch for, as long as your total vouched balance never dips below your guarantee amount at any point.

To move a vouch safely:

  1. Add the new vouch first, so your total goes above your guarantee amount.

  2. Only then close or decrease the old vouch, keeping your total at or above your guarantee amount.

Doing this in the other order, closing or decreasing first and re-vouching after, forfeits the guarantee on the amount you removed. The dip is what triggers the forfeit, no matter how briefly it lasts or how quickly you replace it.
